A three-story former New York City firehouse used by celebrated filmmaker Spike Lee’s production studio in Fort Greene for more than 20 years, is in contract with the last asking price at $4.9 million according to brokers involved in the deal.
The former 1930’s firehouse at 124 DeKalb Avenue in downtown Brooklyn, sat on and off the market for the last 10 years with a handful of different brokers, all hired by the owner who kept the price close to $4.9 million for over a decade, believing strongly in the structure’s value and potential to attract the right buyer.
Oxford Property Group’s Lucas Smith and Sarah Jones repped the undisclosed buyer, a successful businessman and car collector, who Smith says, plans to use the open industrial space inside the 5,775 square foot building to house at least three cars.
CitiHabitats broker Sarah Adler repped the seller, a local real estate developer/investor.
