Disgraced real estate heir Robert Durst was arrested in Houston for urinating on a CVS counter.
The Houston Chronicle reported that the incident happened at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. After collecting prescription medication, Durst walked over to the cash register and began urinating on it “without any apparent provocation,” according to a police spokesperson quoted by the paper.
Durst ended up “drenching the candy display”, before calmly walking out of the store. Durst was arrested and is being charged with “criminal mischief”, which could mean up to a year in prison.
The arrest comes as Durst is still battling charges in New York City of violating a restraining order. Last summer, he was arrested after allegedly standing outside the home of his brother Douglas, head of the Durst Organization, from whom he has long been estranged. In December, he rejected a plea bargain with 15 days of jail time, instead choosing to go to trial.
In 2001, Robert Durst was arrested for killing and dismembering his neighbor in Galveston, Texas. He was later acquitted because the killing was deemed self-defense.
He has also been linked to the disappearance of his first wife 30 years ago.
While Robert is mainly known for his alleged crimes he has lately found success in real estate. He recently sold two buildings in Brooklyn for $21.15 million after buying them in late 2011 for $8.65 million, as Real Estate Weekly first reported.
