RFR announced it has inked a 60,826-square-foot lease with specialized finance company ICON International at Stamford Plaza. The firm returns to the high-visibility complex from Greenwich and will occupy the top two floors at the 253,000-square-foot Four Stamford Plaza, located at 107 Elm St. in downtown Stamford.

The principles at ICON and Carlson have a 30-year tenant/landlord relationship that goes beyond the business aspect – they each share a deep commitment to the community. Carlson connected ICON with the Stamford Boys and Girls club subsequently resulting in the creation of the ICON Invitational golf tournament, which ICON has sponsored for 20 years while also providing support for the club’s numerous community events.
The Stamford Plaza complex is home to firms ranging from asset managers and financial services firms to life sciences, consumer product and media companies. The one million-square-foot campus is conveniently located alongside I-95 and a short walk from the Stamford Transportation Center. It was acquired by RFR in 2007 and, today, the iconic campus is home to many of the state’s leading businesses attracted by a combination of location and outdoor amenities – Stamford Plaza features a 2.5-acre landscaped plaza complete with gardens, a putting green, bocce court, fountains, outdoor dining, and an array of seating options creating an idyllic al fresco option for tenants to work or unwind.
In 2019, RFR executed significant capital improvements at Stamford Plaza. The entry experience at Three Stamford Plaza and Four Stamford boasts lobbies finished in rich rift sawn white oak wood and Verdi marble and include display artwork by Peter Halley, Kim MacConnel and Sean Landers.
The renovation also added a new cafeteria to the complex. The Terrace Café is a 130-seat restaurant designed by Meaghan Apfel’s Carnelian Studio and operated by Guckenheimer, an award-winning international catering firm that specializes in creating custom dining experiences for corporate users. The campus’ amenities include a modern fitness center, teleconferencing centers, shuttles and black car service to the train, meditation room, , ATM, car wash and dry-cleaning services.
