Newmark Grubb Knight Frank as orchestrated a flurry of leases totaling 97,770 square feet—including new tenants, lease extensions and expansions—at the Continental Plaza office complex in Hackensack, N.J.
“Continental Plaza is a premier Class A office property in Bergen County and the repositioning campaign is already a success,” says NGKF’s Blake Goodman. “Tenants are attracted to the new look and added amenities, in addition to its prime location right next to Riverside Square Mall and the Bergen County Courthouse.”
Continental Plaza comprises three Class A buildings along Route 4 for a total of 650,000 square feet. The complex has benefited from recent renovations, including new elevator systems with touch-screen technology, landscaping and a modern entryway and lobby. The parking deck is being overhauled now and upper-floor lobby renovations are under way with the first of many floors already completed. Soon, construction of a fitness center will begin as well.
NGKF’s Tim Greiner and Blake Goodman, the long-time exclusive leasing agents for Continental Plaza, recently secured two new long-term tenants. Regus signed for 16,406 square feet, with Jones Lang LaSalle representing the tenant. Also, Real Estate Mortgage Networks took 16,290 square feet in a relocation and expansion move for the company, which was represented by Studley.
U.S. Bank, which recently acquired the rapidly expanding international fund administrator AIS Fund Administration, a tenant in the building, extended its lease long term and took an additional 10,895 square feet for a total of 33,535 square feet. NGKF’s Merrill Roth represented the tenant in that transaction.
In addition, TGI Friday’s extended its lease of 9,430 square feet for 10 years and a number of other leases totaling 22,109 square feet were signed.
