Speed reading at The Bindery

Modern Spaces announced that The Bindery in Long Island City is half sold two months after opening.

The 20-unit building, scheduled to be completed June, hit the market in early spring and sold one of the homes at $1,060 psf, a record price for the area. Residents are expected to move in August 2013.

Located at 47-34 11th Street, the building’s design has been inspired by the neighborhood’s history as a bustling bookbinding hub. Modern Spaces is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the building.

“This is a huge sales accomplishment for the Bindery in a very short period of time. Having sold these homes at record prices speaks volumes to the desirability of Long Island City,” said Jennifer Dorfmann, senior vice president and director of sales for Modern Spaces.

Developed NY Lions Group and Craig Axelrod, The Bindery will offer seven floors of studios, one- and two-bedrooms with prices starting at $450,000.
