In a marketplace where key financial forces are on the sidelines waiting to invest, employment growth is not at the hoped-for  pace,  and it often feels like the markets hinge on the power of currencies seven times zones away, what lies ahead for the New York City commercial real estate market?

And how can property and asset managers make the most out of their resources during these uncharted times?

Find out at BOMA/NY’s Annual Conference on Thursday, October 18, held from 8 to 10:00 am at Club 101 at 101 Park Avenue.Four industry leaders will focus on market forces and the outlook for the near future, and then discuss the strategies owners and managers can put to work in light of market dynamics.

The breakfast leadership event opens with a Keynote address by Kenneth Adams of the Cuomo Administration and a roundtable discussion hosted by Michael Stoler of The Stoler Report and WINS commentator.

Kenneth Adams, Governor Cuomo’s head of the New York State Empire State Development Corporation will detail why New York is ranked in the top ten states for business by the US Chamber of Commerce.

Outlining the State’s support of private sector investment, Adams will detail the passage of bills on property tax caps and power plant development streamlining and support of small business through $55.4 million in federal funding.

Roundtable Panelists will include Peter H. Corrigan, LEED AP O+M, associate vice president of Cassidy Turley New York, Inc. He will tackle the management challenges of doing more with less, the opportunities to deliver real savings (including thorough contract rebidding and creatively re-thinking operations) and how to deal with capital improvement implementation delays.

Bruce Mosler, Cushman & Wakefield, Inc’s. chairman of Global Brokerage and one of the industry’s leading dealmakers, will give his broker’s take on where the market is headed, where the opportunities are, and what to expect regarding key economic indicators over the next 12 months.

Peter Riguardi, president of New York Tri-State Region for Jones Lang La Salle and a major force in brokerage, national business strategy and corporate accounts, will focus on institutional and corporate influences in the marketplace from a third party firm perspective.

Gaston Silva, chief operating officer, Vornado Office (division of Vornado Realty Trust) will speak from the REIT owner-manager point of view and focus on investment decisions such as those his company is making in Times Square and Fifth Avenue retail development and sustainable infrastructure.
