HAVE YOU HEARD: Eleanor Roosevelt’s former home up for sale, Baccarat terraces going fast

Eleanor Roosevelt’s former home at 211 East 62nd Street is for sale.

Mrs. Roosevelt moved into the apartment in 1953. Needing a base of operations for her New York undertakings, she wrote about moving to her “new little apartmentˮ in her newspaper column.
The longest-serving First Lady of the United States — holding the post from March 1933 to April 1945 — Mrs Roosevelt moved out in 1958.

The building has since been converted to 5,200 s/f single family home with four bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two powder rooms. It has an enclosed garden on the ground floor with a fountain, a terrace overlooking the garden, and a roof deck.

Lauren Kende, Leslie Bott and Nancy Woods of Fenwick Keats Real Estate, has listed the house for $18 million.

Time is running out to buy a Baccarat tower home with a terrace.

Starwood Capital Group and Tribeca Associates just released unit 18BC at Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York, which has a 3,552 s/f wrap-around terrace.

The 4,178 s/f duplex is one of only two remaining residences with outdoor space.
It’s listed at $19.5 million.

A four bedroom apartment at 515 East 79th Street has just been listed for $3.35 million by Corcoran agents Elyse Gutman and Stephen Gutman.

The building was used in the filming of the 1990 Bette Midler movie Beaches, a story about two best friends from different backgrounds that featured Midler’s Grammy-winning Wind Beneath My Wings.
The sunny four bedroom — which wasn’t in the actual movie — has open river and city views, the brokers tell us.

It’s a combination apartment with a step-down, double-sized living room overlooking a double-sized balcony.

There are three full baths (all en suite), two powder rooms and a steam room with double-sized Jacuzzi.
The Asten House co-ops is a star in its own right. The building’s lobby is as elegant as ever and the property is “meticulously run by the resident manager.ˮ
