ART dealer Louis Meisel has bought a three-bedroom condo at 200 Chambers Street for $3.5 million, according to city records.
An author and proponent of the photorealist art movement, Meisel opened one of the first art galleries in SoHo at 141 Prince Street.
The sale was listed with the city as an LLC dubbed “Slam It,ˮ the address for which was recorded with the State as 141 Prince Street.
Meisel is credited with revivng interest in “pin-upˮ illustrations and he is the largest collector of those sexy pictures in the world, according to Wikipedia.
The Chambers Street apartment was listed by Douglas Elliman’s Sonia Stock.

A scion of the Merck Pharmaceuticals family has paid $2.5 million for a tony apartment in the city’s oldest in oldest co-op — more than $500,000 over the asking price.
Friedrike Merck, great granddaughter of the founder of the pharma giant, just closed on the unit at 34 Gramercy Park, according to city records.
A photographer and sculptor, Friedrike’s work has been exhibited by the New York Historical Society, Brookgreen Gardens and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. She was a finalist in the 1998 United States Dollar Coin Competition.
The two bedroom, 2-bath Gramercy Park apartment has a French salon-style living room, according to the listing by Halstead Propertyʼs Jeanne Byers.
There is also a library/office with floor-to-ceiling fluted moulded bookshelves and desk.

THe Dermot Company’s Fort Greene rental building, 66 Rockwell, has partnered with BRIC and BAM to offer residents exclusive perks like art classes, private events, dance lessons and parties.
The announcement follows the launch of a successful partnership with The Mark Morris Dance Group that began in January.
“We are thrilled to partner with BRIC and BAM, both of which are highly regarded cultural institutions not only within our community but throughout the country,” said Jane Cohen, property manager at The Dermot Company.
“These diverse partnerships round out our amenities program across the arts in an effort to meet the interests of as many residents as possible and further engage them in the dynamic offerings of the building’s surrounding neighborhood.”
BRIC, the driving force behind a number of Brooklyn’s most widely renowned arts and media programs, will offer on-site art classes to 66 Rockwell’s EOS Club members, a private amenities club.
BAM, a multi-arts center offering world-renowned programming in theater, dance, music, opera and film, will also curate three private events at 66 Rockwell in 2015 for club members.
