Montreal-based interior designer Andres Escobar has just completed his third high profile project in as many years.
And luxury rental Mantena, at 431 West 37th Street, has the signature Escobar touches that have made him one of the most popular interiors experts in recent years.
Kitchens at Mantena have European-brand stainless steel appliances, deluxe marble bathrooms, indirect lighting and exotic woods that highlight the chiaroscuro in the natural elements.
“This is a building that represents a benchmark in design for the area,” said Escobar, who also worked on The Corner and the Columbus Square developments.
“It sets an important stage for a fast-evolving neighborhood that ties together Clinton, the High Line, Midtown and, soon, Hudson Yards. The architecture here clearly reflects a modern sensibility, while the interior character evokes intimacy and sophistication.”
The studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments have high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with solar shades. Many feature private outdoor terraces or balconies. There is a landscaped rooftop deck with cabanas and private screening area.
Escobar has also created a residents’ lounge, complete with billiards table.
Marketing the property is Tamir Shemesh, senior vice president, The Corcoran Group, and Citi Habitats.
