BXP (NYSE: BXP), the largest publicly traded developer, owner and manager of premier workplaces in the United States, today announced the completion of the General Motors Building’s amenity center. Named Savoy Club, the 35,000-square-foot amenity experience designed by award-winning architecture and interiors firm, Fogarty Finger, offers building clients access to a best-in-class fitness and health center, an innovative food and beverage concept, and a fully appointed conferencing suite.

BXP acquired the GM Building in 2008 and began renovations to refresh and modernize the amenity package in 2021. The 2 million-square-foot tower is one of the most highly sought-after locations in the world, given its prime real estate at 767 Fifth Avenue, adjacent to Central Park and robust neighborhood amenities, including retail, dining and lifestyle options.

“Access to wellness resources is just as important as other job factors like compensation, location, and amenities,” said Hilary Spann, Executive Vice President, New York Region at BXP. “In addition to the neighborhood offerings, we wanted to ensure on-site opportunities that promote a more productive lifestyle for our building clients. The GM Building’s new Savoy Club introduces unique spaces that encourage convenience, efficiency, and collaboration – all of which are important in our clients’ day-to-day lives. We’re dedicated to creating premier workplaces and look forward to the positive impact these new spaces will have on our clients.”

In partnership with Exos, BXP recently completed Wellness at Savoy Club, a world-class fitness center exclusively for client use. Spanning 18,000 square feet, the modern, full-service wellness suite is available before, during, or after work hours and includes a spin studio, yoga room, fully outfitted gym with cardio equipment and weightlifting, app-based fitness and mindfulness classes, restorative therapies and recovery options, and training, wellness, and nutrition coaching. Luxurious locker rooms complete with showers, ensuite changing areas, grooming stations, and high-end hair and body products offer a resort-style environment to freshen up.

To complement the fitness component, Savoy Club offers an elevated dining experience for any time of day. The cafe debuted in early March with coffee and espresso by La Colombe, artisanal pastries and grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options, available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The parlor and library lounge space offer ideal spaces for workers to enjoy their lunch or a cup of coffee with soft seating and warm accents.

Savoy Club is also home to a state-of-the-art conference center ideal for meetings and events. Three individual seminar rooms fit up to 75 guests, with the capabilities to combine all three for a maximum capacity of 265. The flexible space can accommodate seminar, boardroom, or banquette style seating.

In line with the building’s iconic marble facade, Savoy Club was designed around grand architectural gestures and outfitted with a warm palette of marble, plaster, and white oak millwork to evoke feelings of relaxation. The artwork and furniture embody various layers and textures, reflective of the innovators of the GM building and its clients. With high ceilings full of light and air, the space is grounded through rich materiality and soft seating to create an intimate and welcoming environment from day to night.

Situated at one of the world’s greatest crossroads, the GM Building is uniquely positioned to suit the workers of today. The tower is home to the Apple “Cube,” a retailing phenomenon and one of New York City’s top tourist attractions and offers visually appealing amenities for clients including a public plaza, incredible views of Central Park, and a unique yet classic marble design.

BXP owns and operates approximately 10.6 million square feet of premier workplaces in Manhattan, primarily in the Park Avenue and Plaza districts. BXP recently acquired 360 Park Avenue South and 200 Fifth Avenue, expanding its footprint in the Midtown South submarket, a preferred location for companies and young professionals in the tech, advertising, media, and information (TAMI) sector.
