New York – June 6, 2012 – The brightest stars in New York City real estate and finance will rock their poker faces on Wednesday, June 13th to attend the 13th annual Casino Jazz Night at Cipriani 42nd. The event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC), the country’s oldest and largest youth mentoring organization.

This year’s event honors Dennis Friedrich, president and global chief investment officer at Brookfield Office Properties and Glen Weiss, senior vice president and director of leasing at Vornado Realty Trust.

The much-anticipated evening is expected to raise more than $1.3 million for BBBS of NYC’s mentoring programs, which currently serve more than 3,500 young people throughout the five boroughs each year.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City has long enjoyed a close relationship with New York’s greater real estate communities,” said Paul N. Glickman, vice chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle and trustee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. “Now in its 13th year, Casino Jazz Night has become an important event to Big Brothers Big Sisters as it enables us to expand our impact to many more young people in need of caring adult role models.”

Throughout the evening, attendees will take their chances with craps, blackjack, poker, roulette and other casino games, while American Idol Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina, currently on tour with Sugarland, wows the crowd with incredible vocal performances.

Former New York Giants stars Tiki Barber and Christian Peter will be on hand to encourage guests to text donations to BBBS of NYC, while a silent auction lures in those excited for a chance to win everything from dinner and a Broadway show to a stay at La Bella Casa Lana Villa in St. Martin.

This year’s event is chaired by Steven M. Durels, Executive Vice President of SL Green Realty Corp.; Paul N. Glickman, Vice Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle; Adam R. Goldenberg, Managing Director of Equity Office Properties; Michael Lehrman, Executive Managing Director & CEO of Merchant Banking at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co.; and Anthony Orso, Executive Managing Director & CEO of Cantor Commercial Real Estate.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC’s vision is that every NYC child who wants or needs a mentor will have one,” said Hector Batista, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. “We are grateful for our supporters in the greater real estate industries whose continued generosity allows us to work toward that vision.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City makes a critical investment in the futures of at-risk children. Every $2,000 raised provides a Big-Little mentoring match with the financial support it needs for one year.
