Norman Bobrow & Company closed a 10-year-lease deal for Between the Bread’s first sit-down restaurant in New York City at the Eleventh Avenue Terminal Stores building in Chelsea, home to major tenants such as Uber and Flextronics.
Between the Bread, the full-service high-end catering and event company founded in 1979 by Ricky Eisen, counts NBC, NYU, L’Oreal, Gucci and The United Nations among its long list of top corporate clients.
The new restaurant at 261 Eleventh Avenue will be located in the building’s “Tunnel” (lobby) that is being turned into a trendy retail destination, to mirror the popular Chelsea Market.
The asking rent for the 1,300 s/f ground floor space was just north of $100 per square foot, according to Norman Bobrow & Company brokers Joshua Berger and Alex Lubin, who represented the tenant.
“This area is currently quite underserved from a food service standpoint,” said Berger.
“As the office market continues its expansion to the far West Side this location will help accommodate the growing demand for healthy farm-to-table food options.”
The building owner, Waterfront NY, was represented in house by Christopher Flagg and Peter Pachios.
Between the Bread is also opening its Bryant Park Flagship location at 20 East 40th Street on October 13. The company hopes to expand into many more Central Business Districts throughout Manhattan over the coming years if everything goes as planned.
