Real estate firm Walter & Samuels, Inc. announced that an investment group headed by its chairman, David I. Berley, has purchased 30 East 20th Street, a boutique office building located between Broadway and Park Avenue South in the Flatiron District.
The $10 million transaction was negotiated by Ivan Hakimian, founder of HPNY, a full-service investment sales firm that specializes in quiet, off market transactions. The seller was a one-time owner who wishes to remain anonymous.
“As owners and managers of numerous Flatiron District buildings that have performed exceptionally over the years, we anticipate that this building, located on a vibrant street with destination restaurants, will thrive as a location for the area’s technology and new media companies,” said Berley.
“HPNY was able to quietly and successfully negotiate this deal before the property hit the market, matching one of New York’s longest-standing owners with a seller who wanted to move quickly,” said Hakimian. “David Berley was the right fit for this deal.”
30 East 20th Street is a seven-story building, forty feet wide, with loft-like office space and two ground-level retail spaces.
