AFGHAN media mogul, Saad Mohseni, has bought a Greenwich Village carriage house from underwear designer, Leigh Bantivoglio.
City records show Mohseni, founder of the Moby Group, and his wife Sarah Takesh, paid $3.287 million for the house at 6 Morton Street.Mohseni founded one Afghanistan’s biggest media companies after returning from exile to the war ravaged nation following the removal of the Taliban government.
Dubbed “the Rupert Murdoch of Afghanistan,” he’s reportedly now working with ex-State Department employees to expand his media empire across the globe.
The house might be a bit of a project for his designer wife, Sarah. It was listed by Paula Del Nunzio at Brown Harris Stevens, who noted an “opportunity to renovate a sun-filled townhouse with uncommon potential,ˮ in her marketing notes.
Built in 1836, the three-story house has been used as a single family home with a lower level guest suite, according to an earlier listing with PDE.The seller was listed on city records as 3P’s LLC, whose signatory was Bantivoglio. Her “romance inspiredˮ lingerie is a favorite of everyone from Madonna to Scarlett Johansson.
