Cowork|rs, the coworking startup known for its “At Home At Work” vibe, has signed a new lease at 60 Broad Street for 40,000 s/f.

The FiDi deal marks the company’s fourth signed lease, adding to Cowork|rs first 20,000 s/f location, which opened doors in Flatiron in November 2013.
Cowork|rs 47,000 s/f Gowanus location is currently slated for an August 2015 opening; another 30,000 s/f location at 55 Broadway is slated to be unveiled in fall 2015. At 60 Broad Street, owned Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Cowork|rs will occupy the 24th and 25th floors, with an interconnected stairway allowing members to have access between the two floors and amenities.

Members who sign up for the new 60 Broad Street location will have access to both Financial District locations, including the event space located at 55 Broadway and conference rooms at both locations.

60 Broad will differ from Cowork|rs current Flatiron location and upcoming spaces in Gowanus and 55 Broadway as the space will be built to accommodate larger businesses.

The space will be designed with customizable layouts for occupants with a large employee count which Cowork|rs has done for its current Flatiron tenant, technology company Mozilla. Mozilla’s New York office is based in Cowork|rs and was custom designed for its roughly 20 employees and growing headcount.

“Piedmont is extremely excited to welcome Cowork|rs as its newest tenant at 60 Broad Street,” said Brent Smith SVP of Strategic Investments for Piedmont.
“In particular, we believe the unique business environment created by Cowork|rs will continue to drive a broad range of technology, media and design related companies to the building, adding to our list of large, creative-class tenants.”

“We are thrilled to be leasing this incredible space from Piedmont and to increase our presence in lower Manhattan,” said Shlomo Silber, co-founder and CEO of Cowork|rs. “The neighborhood is thriving, and we’re excited to provide an ideal working environment that allows for collaboration and is an affordable alternative for small to medium businesses to call home.”

Cowork|rs works with real estate broker Sean Black, managing director of JLL, to identify appropriate buildings and neighborhoods for the company’s expansion and plans to open more offices this year.
