The Rochlin Organization announced that it has established a capital markets group focused on investment sales and has hired Bruce C. Nelson, one of the region’s top investment sales brokers, to lead the new unit.
Nelson, who since 1992 has been involved in more than $1 billion of office, industrial, retail, multi-housing and land sales in Long Island, Westchester, New York City and New Jersey, joined The Rochlin Organization as a managing director.
He formerly was a was a vice president in the Melville office of CBRE and head of the national real estate firm’s Long Island Private Capital Group.
Nelson’s experience includes equity, debt and structured investment transactions. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Hofstra University.
Also joining the newly formed division is Austin Mandell, formerly a marketing specialist at the Rallye Automotive Group, in Roslyn.
Mandell, a 2012 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications studies, will work directly with Nelson on investment sales.

Hines announced that Byron LaMotte has been promoted to Managing Director in the firm’s New York Office.
LaMotte joined Hines in 2008 to work in the New York development office and has worked across all disciplines of Hines’ business including acquisitions, management, leasing and development.
In addition to underwriting new investment opportunities across the New York metro region, he has worked on major development projects including 56 Leonard.
Most recently, as Director on the 53W53 project, he served as the lead coordinator that brought about the successful closing of this significant development.
Byron is now joining Hines’ Capital Markets Group where he will be focused on U.S. direct investments.
He received his Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University in 2003 and his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2008.

HealthCare Chaplaincy Network (HCCN) announced today that Carri Lyon, a leading real estate broker, has joined the board of directors of this national organization.
Lyon is an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., New York City, where she specializes in tenant representation throughout the metropolitan area. She has assisted numerous nonprofit organizations in space acquisitions, and is regarded as one of the leading nonprofit brokers in New York City.
Prior to a career in commercial brokerage, Lyon worked as an attorney specializing in real estate finance and commercial leasing.
She received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and later earned her law degree at New York University School of Law.

HKS Capital Partners announced that Dadi Denis joined the real estate finance advisory firm as a capital advisor and mortgage finance professional where he is responsible for creating financial solutions for the firm’s many diverse clients in debt and equity.
Prior to HKS, Denis worked as a consumer banker at Wells Fargo Financial in Baltimore, Maryland where he arranged sub-prime financing for home and car loans in a very competitive market for four years.
He then went on to work for Wells Fargo Corporate Trust as a MBS analyst and then onto Wells Fargo Advisors as a Wealth Advisor.
Denis holds a bachelor of science from Morgan State University in Baltimore.

McCarthy Fingar LLP has formed a new Municipal Law and Land Use practice group.
The group will be led by Clinton B. Smith, with attorneys Lester D. Steinman and Daniel Pozin serving as partners and Anna Georgiou, who will be of counsel. All four attorneys recently joined McCarthy Fingar after working for Wormser Kiely Galef and Jacobs, LLP in White Plains.
Clinton B. Smith is deeply involved in government and public affairs in the Hudson Valley region.
He served as New Castle Town Supervisor from 1996 to 1999 has been on the Westchester County Planning Board and the Teatown Lake Reservation Board of Trustees since 2000.
Smith earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School in 1977.
Lester D. Steinman began his legal career as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York.
He then served the Westchester County Department of Law as an attorney and as Assistant Chief Deputy Attorney.
He is the Director of the Edwin G. Michaelian Municipal Law Resource Center and has served as Adjunct Professor of Local Government Law and Finance at Pace University. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University in 1974.
Daniel Pozin has practiced extensively in the areas of municipal law, real estate development, zoning and planning, and environmental law.
He sits as Village Counsel to the Board of Trustees and Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Elmsford in Westchester County and has advised various municipal boards in other towns throughout the county.
Pozin earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University Law School in 1988. Anna L. Georgiou has represented a number of municipal clients, property owners and developers in land use approval and the environmental review process.
She also sits as Zoning Board of Appeals Counsel to the Town of Yorktown in Westchester County. Prior to practicing law, she was engaged in the development of affordable housing and community development for the public and non-profit sectors.
She received her Juris Doctor degree from Pace University School of Law in 1998.

Nancy J. Ruddy, co-founder and managing principal of the award-winning global architecture and design firm CetraRuddy, has been named to the board of the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute in New York.
Ruddy is the second professional named to the Institute’s board who is an architect and interior designer by training.
In her new role, she will help promote knowledge of key real estate, design and planning issues and work to strengthen ties with various stakeholder communities.
Ruddy, who has earned honors internationally for her design achievements and business leadership, joins a distinguished group of luminaries in real estate and allied fields on the board of the Newman Institute. Among the current board members are Barbara Corcoran, Douglas Durst, Clark P. Halstead, Daniel Rose, Sen. Charles E. Schumer, Larry Silverstein, Julien J. Studley, and the founding chair, William Newman.

TerraCRG announced that Peter Schubert has joined the firm as Partner and Managing Director of Commercial Leasing.
Schubert brings more than 12 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and has worked on hundreds of leasing and sales transactions ranging from 300 s/f to over 300,000 s/f.
He was part of the original brokerage team in Massey Knakal’s Brooklyn office in 2003 and later managed the Moinian Group’s 13 million s/f commercial retail and office portfolio.
His notable deals include representing Moinian in bringing ad agency Y&R from 285 Madison Ave to a new 340,000 s/f headquarters at 3 Columbus Circle in 2011.
Peter also represented Moinian in delivering a lease to the NBA to create its forthcoming 28,000 s/f retail flagship on Fifth Ave.
Prior to entering the New York commercial real estate industry, Schubert spent ten years in investment banking.
He is fluent in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, and holds a BA from the University of California at Davis, and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management.

Eastern Consolidated has again expanded its Capital Advisory Division with the addition of Sammy Abdalla, who joins the firm as a Director.
Abdalla will be responsible for working with commercial real estate owners, operators, and developers to help arrange for debt and equity financing.
He will also use his commercial banking background and formal credit training to underwrite, structure, and arrange for commercial loans to middle market companies.
Throughout his more than 15 years of experience with financial institutions, Abdalla has held prominent positions with Capital One Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Textron Financial Corp., and Provident Bank.
Most recently he was a Managing Director at Customers Bank.
Abdalla is a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and is fluent in Arabic.

His focus will be to provide assistance to clients in the formation of budgets, scheduling and day-to-day operations in support of senior project directors.
Campbell comes to Cushman & Wakefield with asset management experience, having previously worked with the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. (DRWC) as a strategic manager and consultant.
He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Science in Construction Management from Philadelphia University.
