Prudential Douglas Elliman has appointed Stephen Kotler as its Chief Operating Officer. Kotler brings over 25 years of industry experience to this new role and has most recently served as executive vice president and managing director of business development at the firm.
“Stephen has been a dedicated and invaluable member of the Elliman family for twenty years–his accomplishments speak for themselves,” said Dottie Herman, president of Prudential Douglas Elliman. “He has played an instrumental role with our vital new initiatives at Douglas Elliman, including the re-design of our corporate website and our strategic international expansion. I am thrilled to welcome him on to our executive leadership team.”
Kotler joined Prudential Douglas Elliman in 1991, and was the first agent in New York City to form a real estate team, The Kotler Group. Under his leadership, the group achieved Top 10 status at Prudential Douglas Elliman for ten consecutive years, ranked in the Top 100 brokers in the country by Prudential Real Estate affiliates for five years, and was listed in the Top 10 of Prudential’s 60,000-plus agents worldwide in 2005, among other awards.
In 2005, he transitioned into management. As executive vice president and director of sales and rentals for Prudential Douglas Elliman’s 485 Madison Avenue office, Kotler was in charge of 160 agents. His office at 485 Madison has been ranked in the top five offices nationally for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates five years running. He was also responsible for overseeing the firm’s New York City and Long Island relocation operations, as well as its eTeam and corporate websites.
“It has been a privilege to work with my stellar and inspiring colleagues at a firm that is an industry leader,” said Kotler. “I look forward with excitement to the challenges in my new role as COO for Elliman.”
