The Rockefeller Group announced the completion of a 187,000 s/f lease with Mayer Brown LLP at 1221 Avenue of the Americas, the 50-story office tower anchoring the western border of Rockefeller Center between West 48th and West 49th Streets.
Mayer Brown, a global legal services firm, signed a long-term lease for the entire 11th through 14th floors of 1221 Avenue of the Americas. The firm, which has more than 200 lawyers in its New York office, will relocate from 1675 Broadway to the building in late 2014.
Richard Spehr, partner-in-charge of Mayer Brown’s New York office, said, “We are thrilled with our impending move to 1221 Avenue of the Americas. Our new space in this premier building will be designed to serve the needs of our global clients for years to come.”
The tenant was represented by CBRE brokerage professionals Bob Flippin, Andrew Sussman, Anthony Dattoma and Lauren Crowley.
The Rockefeller Group was represented by an in-house team led by Edward J. Guiltinan, Sr., along with a Cushman & Wakefield brokerage team led by Executive Vice Chairman John Cefaly.
The lease brings total new leases at 1221 Avenue of the Americas in 2013 to 282,648 s/f. New leases and renewals in the building have totaled 817,000 square feet since mid-2011. Approximately 400,000 s/f of office space is available at the building.
