Darren Star, the man behind hit 90’s TV shows Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex and the City, has sold his New York City apartment for $13 million.
According to its listing on Streeteasy, the 3,059 s/f pad, unit #35G at the Trump International Hotel & Tower at 1 Central Park West, has three bedrooms and 4.5 baths, with Central Park views from floor-to-ceiling windows.
The apartment, which also includes a 40 ft. entertaining space, was renovated by architect and interior designer Waldo Fernandez back in 2005, after Star purchased the apartment for $6.1 million.
The apartment was first listed in September 2012 for $14.9 million.
John Burger with Brown Harris Stevens had the listing on the Lincoln Square condo, which went into contract on April 29 and closed on May 21, according to public records.
The buyer is listed as Los Angeles-based Beverly Park Corporation, which the Observer newspaper reported is shopping second developer Frank Lowy, Australia’s second richest man.
Star is most well-known as the creator and writer of the mega-hit show Sex and the City, which ran on HBO from 1998-2004. He also produced Sex and the City: The Movie and its sequel, Sex and the City 2.
Art collectors and interior designers previewed a collection by Sandi Slone in the Fendi Casa penthouse at Bizzi & Partners Residences at 400 Fifth Avenue.
At a reception hosted in conjunction with SCENE Magazine’s May issue launch, Giuseppe Rossi, executive vice president of Bizzi & Partners, called Slone’s paintings “bold and expressive” and said 15 of her most recent works will be on display in the penthouse through August.
Slone is noted for her contribution to late Modernism and contemporary American abstraction. Her paintings are held in major museum permanent collections internationally, including New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Houlihan Lawrence is sponsoring a wine, cheese cocktail event benefiting the Family Reach Foundation tomorrow (June 6).
It will be held at 888 Old Post Road, Bedford, a Houlihan Lawrence Luxury Country Property listing, and hosted by listing agent Camille Branca.
The two-hour event will feature food, music and a silent auction.
