Brooklyn’s apartment market just keeps on giving.
Clare Saliba just sold a studio loft for $80,000 over asking in just 23 days.
Saliba, an agent at Corcoran, listed the cast iron Smith Gray Building unit at 138 Broadway for $799,000.
“Instantaneously, I was overwhelmed by phone and email inquiries,” said Saliba.
“The first open house I had, 140 people come through. I had to hire another agent to serve as crowd control.”
The 900 s/f loft has exposed brick walls, 13 ft. oak ceilings, original cast iron columns, an open kitchen and a limestone bath. The unit, #2B, is one of a handful in the building with private outdoor space.
The unit also features central a/c and heat, there is a communal roof deck, basement bike storage, and laundry on each floor.
“I think one of the reasons why it went so quickly and over the asking price is that it really has all the ingredients of that quintessential Williamsburg loft,” said Saliba. “I think a lot of people are looking for that.”
