CBS signs Worldwide Plaza deal

Global Distribution Group of CBS is moving its east coast/NY operations.

The CBS division has signed a 12-year lease for 32,598 s/f comprising the entire 30th floor at Worldwide Plaza, the 1.8 million square foot Class A office building that occupies the entire westerly blockfront of Eighth Avenue, between 49th and 50th Streets.

“We are delighted to welcome an iconic name in television to Worldwide Plaza,” said Peter S. Duncan, president and CEO of George Comfort & Sons, who heads the investment group, WWP Office, LLC.

WWP Office, LLC is a partnership comprised of George Comfort & Sons, RCG Longview, DRA Advisors, and New York REIT, Inc.
Michael R. Laginestra, Scott L. Gottlieb, Andrew Sussman, Michael Wellen and Rocco Laginestra of CBRE Group, Inc., represented CBS in the 12-year lease. Peter Duncan and Matt Coudert represented the building ownership.

According to Duncan, the property has seen a “flurry of activity” from media companies in recent months.
M. Shanken Communications, publisher of Cigar Aficionado and Wine Spectator, signed a long-term lease at the building and WNET is a tenant.
